From Dyslexia to Parkinson's
I can hide the dyslexia; I can't hide the Parkinson's.
When I retired, I took up film making to share my Parkinson’s journey along with other stories that I want to tell.
"From Dyslexia to Parkinson's" is the story of my personal journey with two brain defects. In this video I tell the story of suffering through an entire formal education without knowing why learning was such a difficult challenge. It was just before receiving my master's degree and ordination as Rabbi, that I found out my problem had a label -- the brain defect -- dyslexia... If we had only put our brains together then to discover what is being learned today about dyslexia- how many children would have been spared my educational agony?
The film continues with the story of my living with Parkinson's disease and the challenge of learning to live with the impairment of a degenerative illness so visible in both motor and mental capacities.
I’m fighting Parkinson’s Disease every which way I can.
