Hold Fast to Your Dreams
Like a thief in the night, Parkinson’s Disease stole from my body the ability to respond to the commands of my brain. When I was diagnosed, it was such a shock that part of me refused to believe it. Eventually, I had to confront the reality that my life would change in dramatic ways.
For a time, I felt lost and afraid of what the future would be like. It would have been very easy to choose to do nothing, to just allow the thief to take everything I enjoyed away from me. But that is just not who I am.
In this video, I share my thoughts on my personal journey with Parkinson’s and how I learned that old dreams can be replaced with new visions of what life can have in store for us.
Life brings many twists and turns in the road. We have a choice in how we respond to those events and new circumstances. It is my hope that if you are suffering in some way, that you will find your strength and open a path to recognizing new gifts. Perhaps this video will help you find that new road ahead.
I found many valuable gifts in music, dance, painting and most importantly, in the compassion of others.
